What You'll Learn

  • Shelter Building: Learn to construct safe, effective shelters using natural materials.
  • Fire Starting: Master the art of building and maintaining a fire without matches or lighters.
  • Foraging for Food: Discover local plants that can provide nourishment in a survival situation.
  • Water Sourcing & Purification: Find and purify water to ensure it’s safe to drink.

Course Details

  • Who: Open to kids (ages 5+), teens, and families
  • When: Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10 am - 2 pm
  • Where: Belleplain State Forest
  • What to Bring: Packed lunch, water bottle, weather appropriate gear (rain gear too!), and a positive attitude

This course emphasizes teamwork, resourcefulness, and a deep connection to nature. Families are encouraged to join together for an educational bonding experience that will leave everyone more confident in outdoor settings.
